Nicola Wood – the chief executive of The Wonderful Wig Company, a specialist service for cancer patients, people with alopecia and other conditions – needed to raise her profile, promote her business, and position herself as a thought leader in the hairdressing industry.
Nicola Wood made a significant impact by raising awareness of hair loss and supplying wigs to hospitals and trusts locally. She wanted to expand her reach beyond the North East, change how hair loss is taught in the curriculum, raise awareness and understanding of medical hair loss globally and highlight why using wigs is far more than just vanity.
With Moja’s support, Nicola secured numerous media opportunities nationwide, including achieving one of her goals – a feature in The Hairdressing Journal.
She received countless awards recognition and was named the Most Inspiring Businesswomen at the 2023 Best Businesswomen Awards and Disruptor for Good at the 2024 Northern Power Women Awards.
Her TEDx talk, ‘How to Stop Minimising the Impact of Hair Loss’ launched in March 2024, and amassed over 30,000 views – reaching global audiences and amplifying her message.
Podcasting with Moja has driven my personal growth and put me in the same room with some incredible people. The openness and quality of these discussions have created memorable moments that underscore everything we stand for.
